CARROLLTON, Mich. -
Ithaca (Mich.) extended its winning streak to five games with a 49-14 victory over Carrollton (Mich.) on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a
Bryan Shaw touchdown run in the first quarter, the Yellowjackets were up 35-7 at the half.
Ithaca expanded its lead to 42 points entering the fourth quarter. IHS scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Shaw.
Ithaca's most effective player was
Travis Smith. The senior quarterback threw two touchdowns. He has now scored four touchdowns on the season.
Ithaca also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 55-13.
The loss comes after Carrollton defeated Valley Lutheran 21-14 last week. The loss ended Carrollton's two-game winning streak.
Carrollton (2-3) goes up against Breckenridge in a Tri-Valley - West game matchup next week, while Ithaca (5-0) locks horns with Valley Lutheran also in a Tri-Valley - West game.
