It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Glenwood Springs Demons can now relate to. They were dealt a 52-7 defeat at the hands of Green Mountain on Saturday. Glenwood Springs was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-7.
Max Bollock threw for 43 yards on five of 12 attempts. Mason Markovich was his top target, picking up 29 receiving yards.
Leading Green Mountain to victory were Nowell Dacres and Blake Weslin. Dacres rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, while Weslin threw for 142 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. Dalton Poulignot also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Glenwood Springs has yet to win a match on the road this season, leaving them with a 5-6 record. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 12.3 points per game. As for Green Mountain, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
Glenwood Springs does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Green Mountain's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Roosevelt at 1:00 p.m. on November 18th. Roosevelt is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
