Jacksonville is 8-2 against White Plains since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the Jacksonville Golden Eagles will get right back to it and host the White Plains Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
On Thursday, Jacksonville lost to Talladega at home by a decisive 69-53 margin. While losing is never fun, Jacksonville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 297th, while Talladega is ranked 110th).
Despite the loss, Jacksonville got a solid performance out of Alexis Phillips, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Phillips scored a full 28.3% of Jacksonville's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rachel Sanders, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, White Plains' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Anniston 70-27.
This is the second loss in a row for Jacksonville and nudges their season record down to 2-8. As for White Plains, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-5.
Jacksonville beat White Plains 37-28 when the teams last played back in November of 2022. Does Jacksonville have another victory up their sleeve, or will White Plains turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
