After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Sale Creek, Howard Tech was happy to have turned things around  on Friday. They skirted past the Tyner Academy Rams  4-3. The  win continues a trend for the Hustlin' Tigers in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won five in a row.

 Devon Holten-McKinney made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching 2.2 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits. He also  tossed  no  earned runs, which is notable because Howard Tech is 2-1 when he allows at  most  one  earned run, but 2-3 otherwise. Holten-McKinney was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs and  stealing two bases while going 2-for-2.
 Holten-McKinney wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Sean Besley, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-4. Another  was  Anthony Fullilove, who  scored a  run and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in two of his three plate appearances.
The  victory  got Howard Tech back to even at 4-4. As for Tyner Academy, they dropped their record down to 0-8 with the  loss, which was their ninth straight  on the road dating back to last season.
 Looking ahead, Howard Tech will take on East Hamilton at 7:00  p.m.  on Monday. Howard Tech is facing East Hamilton at the right time seeing as East Hamilton is stuck on  a  six-game losing streak. As for Tyner Academy, they will face off against Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences at 5:30  p.m.  on Monday.
