Football Recap: Broken Bow Wins High-Profile Game Against Ada

Broken Bow faced Ada in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Savages blew past the Cougars 42-14. The Savages might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 28 points or more this season.

Broken Bow's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Greydon Howell, who rushed for 178 yards and four scores while picking up 11.1 yards per carry, and also threw for 155 yards and one touchdown. That's the most rushing yards Howell has posted since back in October of 2024. Jattairrius Neal was another key back, gaining 183 total yards and two touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Broken Bow was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 328 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ada only rushed for 103.

Ada lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Lakievin Richardson, who picked up 62 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more receiving touchdowns the last four times he's played. Caron Richardson handled things on the ground, rushing for 99 yards.

The win was the third in a row for Broken Bow, bringing their record up to 7-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.7 points over those games. As for Ada, their defeat was their first of the season and also makes their record 7-1.

Broken Bow has already played their next matchup, a 48-7 win against McLain Science & Tech on the 31st. As for Ada, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 42-6 victory against Glenpool on the 31st.
