Citrus is 10-0 against Hernando since November of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. After both having extra time off, both will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 6:30 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Citrus is likely headed into the match with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Leesburg two weeks ago. Citrus came up short against Leesburg, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, the Hurricanes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 308th, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 84th).

Meanwhile, Hernando fell victim to Bishop McLaughlin Catholic and their airtight defense two weeks ago. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hurricanes. The Leopards have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Citrus' defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5-1. As for Hernando, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10-1.

Citrus took their victory against Hernando when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 6-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Citrus since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
