De Anza recap September 24, 2013
Yucca Valley moved up to 381 from 431 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in De Anza. The Trojans climbed the ranks as a result of besting Barstow 16-12.
Desert Mirage lost to Coachella Valley 44-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Felipe Leon was a bright spot for Desert Mirage, as he threw for 38 yards and ran for 83 yards in the loss.
Twentynine Palms's dynamic duo of Jayvon Johnson and Talo Wilson proved tough for Rim of the World to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Johnson threw for 142 yards and Wilson had 96 yards receiving. Andrew Wilson helped Twentynine Palms' passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 40 yards.
The Wildcats' dynamic duo of Johnson and Wilson proved to be unstoppable against the Fighting Scots, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Wilson was the best wideout in the league this week as Twentynine Palms lost to Rim of the World.
T Armstrong was the best running back in the league this week. In 25 carries, he ran for 220 yards as Desert Hot Springs fell to Bob Gradillas' team. Roman Camacho also contributed to the rushing game with 42 yards on the ground.
Armstrong provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Golden Eagles lost to Rubidoux.
Johnson put up the best numbers through the air as the Wildcats lost to the Fighting Scots.
Armstrong was a force in the backfield as Desert Hot Springs fell to the Falcons.
On the heels of Bradley Soares and Logan Vallo, Yucca Valley has had great success on offense. Soares leads the league in passing with 305 yards, while Vallo has rushed for 477 yards this season. Tops in the league in receiving yards is eric perry's team's Armstrong, with 139 yards on 16 catches.
Big Bear led De Anza in scoring this week after putting up 56 points on Heritage Christian.
