If the Altamonte Christian Eagles were feeling good off their 76-30 takedown of the Lake Mary Prep Griffins last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Altamonte Christian lost to East River on the road by a decisive 61-44 margin on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Altamonte Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 248th, while East River is ranked 95th).
Despite the loss, Altamonte Christian had strong showings from Vincent Lee, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds, and Ryan Almeda, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcel Ksiazek, who scored five points along with six rebounds.
Altamonte Christian's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for East River, their win bumped their record up to 13-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Altamonte Christian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Morningside Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 19th. As for East River, they will be playing in front of their home fans against University at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
