The Springstead Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Lecanto Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Springstead has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 448 points over their last seven matchups.
Last Wednesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Springstead beat Land O' Lakes 57-53.
Austin Nicholson and Nick Cordero were among the main playmakers for Springstead as the former scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and five assists and the latter scored 21 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Zion McKenzie, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
In what's become a running theme this season, Lecanto gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 69-23 victory over Nature Coast Tech. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Lecanto has posted since December 5, 2023.
Springstead has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Lecanto, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-4.
Springstead couldn't quite finish off Lecanto when the teams last played back in December of 2023 and fell 44-41. Can Springstead avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
