The Queen's Grant Stallions will face off against the Jackson Day Mariners at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Queen's Grant has given up an average of 12 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
The home team had come away the winner the last four times Queen's Grant and Piedmont Community Charter had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Stallions took an 11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Patriots on April 1st. The Stallions have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Tyrell Byrd and Max Stathis did some serious damage despite the final result: Byrd went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Stathis went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Byrd has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Ezequiel Abreu, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last contest, Jackson Day made sure to put some runs up on the board against Rocky River on Tuesday. The Mariners came out on top against the Ravens by a score of 13-8. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Mariners as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Owen Murphy made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Murphy was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his two plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Caleb Burgin was incredible, getting two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in runs (three). Matthew Parson was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Jackson Day was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of 5.000. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Jackson Day's win bumped their record up to 3-10. As for Queen's Grant, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Queen's Grant has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Jackson Day struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Queen's Grant might still be hurting after the 15-9 defeat they got from Jackson Day when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Stallions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
