There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. There's a new number one at the head of the rankings as well as a new caboose.
Can't Touch This
Flint Hill got a 50 - 6 win over Potomac School last week, and a key reason for the win was senior Jordan Houston. Houston ran for 265 yards and also punched in three touchdowns. That performance made Houston one of the best players in the power rankings last week.
This Week's Big Showdown
The clash of the power ranking titans last week was between Dinwiddie (18th in the MaxPreps state rankings) and Hopewell (29th). Dinwiddie wasn't too far behind, but it still lost 7 - 0 to Hopewell. Dinwiddie lost a lot of ground in this match: the team forfeited seven spots in the power rankings.
Can't Stop Won't Stop
It was another game, another high-octane performance for Ocean Lakes last week (their 4th in a row). Everything went its way against Princess Anne as it secured a 42 - 0 win. Ocean Lakes was heavily favored coming into this contest, and the results showcase why. With ten consecutive wins, Ocean Lakes boasts the longest winning streak of any team in the rankings.
Next Week's Big Game
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between North Stafford (22nd in the power rankings) and Colonial Forge (1st). Both teams have their heads held high after dominating their previous opponents. Colonial Forge and North Stafford both have plenty of landslide victories under their belts (Colonial Forge with seven and North Stafford with six), but only one can come away triumphant this week. We'll find out who that is soon.
