The Madison Bulldogs will head out to face off against the Maranacook Black Bears at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Madison came out on top against Spruce Mountain on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run sixth inning. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Phoenix. Considering the Bulldogs' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

04/30/25 vs Hall-Dale | 11 |

Jayden Horton spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Madison got a big performance out of Owhen VanGordon, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Griffin Dickey also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Madison always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. The last time their OBP was this high was was before the start of last season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Maranacook). Everything went their way against Old Orchard Beach on Monday as they made off with an 8-2 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Black Bears have posted against the Seagulls since April 20, 2018.
Caldre Glowa was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was River Fallos, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Madison now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Maranacook, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Madison was able to grind out a solid win over Maranacook when the teams last played back in April, winning 5-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
