Despite the defeat, Barnwell saw an underclassman step up: Vashahd Scofield scored 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Scofield has scored all season. Henri Creech was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Barnwell has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Williston-Elko, they pushed their record up to 7-4 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Barnwell will take on Hampton County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hampton County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Barnwell in South Carolina (Hampton County is ranked 71st, while Barnwell is ranked 252nd). As for Williston-Elko, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against North at 8:00 p.m. North has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 514 points over their last seven games.
