The Springbrook Blue Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They fell 44-37 to Great Mills.
Great Mills was led to victory by A'Naija Bush and Karleigh Thomas. Bush scored 14 points along with five rebounds and five steals, while Thomas scored 20 points along with six steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Bush has scored at least 25% of Great Mills' points.
Springbrook bumped their record down to 1-6 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.3 points per game. As for Great Mills, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.
Springbrook will face off against Richard Montgomery at TBD on Friday. Great Mills won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Takoma Academy at 3:00 p.m. on December 29, 2023.
