Taft has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against The Santiam Christian Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Taft never let their opponents score. They blew past Newport 44-0 at home. The result was nothing new for Taft, who have now won four matches by 20 points or more so far this season.
Armando Fajardo continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 74 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries, while also throwing for 226 yards and two touchdowns. Evan Halferty was in the mix as well, providing Taft with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Santiam Christian was able to grind out a solid win over Scio on Friday, taking the game 14-6.
Taft's win bumped their record up to 4-4. As for Santiam Christian, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 6-3.
Taft was taken down by Santiam Christian 54-7 in their previous meeting back in October of 2017. Can Taft avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
