There's no place like home for the Captain Shreve Gators, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They greeted the New Year with with a 60-41 victory over Natchitoches Central. That's another feather in the cap for Captain Shreve, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Captain Shreve got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ejoshua Mcdonald out in front who scored 20 points. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Jyrin Sowell, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and four blocks.
Captain Shreve has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. As for Natchitoches Central, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 14-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Captain Shreve will take on Airline at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Natchitoches Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Haughton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
