Fayetteville has been on the road for four straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the St. Paul Cardinals at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Tuesday, Fayetteville took a serious blow against Weimar, falling 61-28. While losing is never fun, Fayetteville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 928th, while Weimar is ranked 442nd).
Rylie Dyer was Fayetteville's leading scorer, having posted 11 points. Dyer also led the team in assists with five. Dyer held things down on the boards with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, St. Paul was beaten by Shiner 67-23 on Tuesday. St. Paul was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-8.
Fayetteville's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for St. Paul, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Fayetteville came up short against St. Paul in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 29-18. Can Fayetteville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
