Emma Borders spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in nine consecutive pitching appearances.
On the hitting side, Aubrey Cannon made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Brookelyn Miles, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Corydon Central waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They were the clear victor by an 8-1 margin over the Pioneers. The result was nothing new for Corydon Central, who have now won seven matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Corydon Central also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Madison Garretson gave up only one earned run on three hits and racked up eight Ks.
At the plate, Addyson Leonard was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 4-for-4. Paisley Teeter was another key contributor, going 2-for-4 with a triple, two RBI, and a double.
Jeffersonville has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season. As for Corydon Central, they pushed their record up to 9-4 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
