Meade is 8-2 against Minneola since February of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Meade Buffaloes will be playing at home against the Minneola Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Meade will be strutting in after a victory while Minneola will be coming in after a loss.
Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up nine more assists than your opponent, a fact Meade proved on Friday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 62-33 victory over Ashland.
Meade can attribute much of their success to Carlie Martin, who scored 13 points along with five assists and five rebounds, and Dallas Sherman, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. Martin has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. Charity Powell was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Minneola's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 70-42 loss at the hands of Spearville. While losing is never fun, Minneola can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 255th, while Spearville is ranked 32nd).
Meade's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Minneola, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-12.
Meade strolled past Minneola in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a score of 55-41. Does Meade have another victory up their sleeve, or will Minneola turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
