Donegal is 2-8 against Manheim Central since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Indians will head out on the road to face off against the Barons at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Monday, Donegal was able to grind out a solid win over Garden Spot, taking the game 4-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Indians.

The team relied heavily on Leland Condran, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. Sawyer Floyd also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Meanwhile, Manheim Central had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 17-11 victory. Considering the Barons have won three games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Carter Kyle and Chase Book did most of the damage at the plate: Kyle got on base in three of his four plate appearances with five RBI and one double, while Book scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Those five RBI gave Kyle a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cody Hess, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5.
Manheim Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .524. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Donegal pushed their record up to 6-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Manheim Central, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Donegal has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Manheim Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Donegal was able to grind out a solid victory over Manheim Central when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 6-1. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Barons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
