It was a good run, but the Suncoast Chargers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 59-58 to North Broward Prep. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Suncoast lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Philleah Bright, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Nekeria Sutton was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
It was another big night for Alexa Schwartz, who scored 39 points along with nine steals for North Broward Prep. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Schwartz has scored all season. Another player making a difference was ysamar pimentel, who scored 13 points along with five steals.
Suncoast's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 7-7. As for North Broward Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.
Suncoast will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Royal Palm Beach at 7:30 p.m. Royal Palm Beach will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 432nd, while Suncoast is ranked 185th). As for North Broward Prep, North Broward Prep and Dwyer will face off at 10:00 a.m. on January 15th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
