The DeSoto County Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by Lemon Bay on the road and fell 70-41. DeSoto County has struggled against the Manta Rays recently, as their match on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
DeSoto County lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Rylan Unruh, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Unruh has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Ward, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Cooper Benedict was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds for Lemon Bay. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Scott, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
DeSoto County's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-22. As for Lemon Bay, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 10-13 record this season.
DeSoto County will be playing at home against the Miners at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fort Meade is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 59.5 points per game this season. As for Lemon Bay, they will head out on the road to face off against the Sentinels at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
