The Antwerp Archers will venture away from home to square off against the Miller City Wildcats at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Antwerp is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
Antwerp barely beat Holgate the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Archers blew past the Tigers 10-0 on Friday. While the Archers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-9), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Elle Clem was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three).
In other batting news, Raelynne Zuber was incredible, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Alia Clem, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Antwerp was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Holgate only posted a batting average of .167.
Meanwhile, Miller City hadn't done well against Crestview recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Wildcats skirted past the Knights 8-7.
The team relied heavily on Bailey David, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Verhoff, who scored three runs while going 4-for-4.
Antwerp pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Miller City, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Miller City's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Antwerp has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .437. It's a different story for Miller City, though, as they've only averaged .343. Will they be able to contain Antwerp's hitters?
