Basketball Game Preview: Citrus Hill Hawks vs. Ramona Rams

Citrus Hill has gone 6-0 against Ramona recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Citrus Hill Hawks will be taking part in a tournament against the Ramona Rams at 8:00 p.m. Citrus Hill will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

Citrus Hill will head into Saturday's contest hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 20) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. It was close, but they capped 2024 with a 60-57 win over Woodcrest Christian. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Hawks have posted since January 9th.

Citrus Hill got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jerren White out in front who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 boards. White has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 19 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Kannon Steward, who posted 13 points in addition to eight rebounds and seven assists.

Citrus Hill smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in four consecutive matches.

While Ramona didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They claimed a resounding 79-43 victory over Colton. The Rams have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 28 points or more this season.

Citrus Hill is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.1 points per game. As for Ramona, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.

Citrus Hill was able to grind out a solid victory over Ramona in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, winning 60-49. Will Citrus Hill repeat their success, or does Ramona have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
