The Concord Christian Kingsmen will face off against the Nute Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Nute will be up against a hot Concord Christian team: the squad just extended their winning streak to six. The Kingsmen were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over Farmington on Friday. That's two games straight that the Kingsmen have won by exactly ten runs.

TJ Charbono was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Concord Christian let Jackson Barton and Grady St Jean run wild. Barton went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while St Jean went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Barton is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Annabelle Syvertson, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.
Concord Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Nute made easy work of Holy Family Academy last Wednesday and carried off a 14-4 win.
Like Concord Christian, Nute also got a great game from a two-way player: Beckett Viveiros. Throwing, Viveiros struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Brody Leeman struck out six batters over two innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits (and only one walk). At the plate, Viveiros got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double, while Leeman went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those two stolen bases gave Viveiros a new career-high.
In other batting news, Ethan Burrows was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Bilodeau, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two doubles.
Concord Christian's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average this season. As for Nute, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Monday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Concord Christian has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .480. However, it's not like Nute struggles in that department as they've averaged .465. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Concord Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against Nute when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 3-1. Do the Kingsmen have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
