The Donna Klein Jewish Academy Eagles's 8-4 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They took a 55-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of American Heritage on Wednesday. Donna Klein Jewish Academy lost against American Heritage in their previous head to head last Monday, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 61-42 score last time.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Elle Meldung, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Meldung, who scored 12 points.
Skylar Turk was the offensive standout of the contest as she scored 25 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of American Heritage's points. Selma Drucker was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Donna Klein Jewish Academy now has a losing record at 1-2. As for American Heritage, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Donna Klein Jewish Academy will be playing at home against Avant Garde Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for American Heritage, they will head out on the road to face off against Benjamin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
