The Mountain Ridge Mountain Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight defeat. They took a hard 71-54 fall against Pinnacle. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Mountain Ridge in their matchups with the Pioneers: they've now lost nine in a row.
Despite the loss, Mountain Ridge had strong showings from Jaiden Thompson, who scored 25 points along with three steals, and Andy Saeva, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds. Saeva continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Dallin Smith was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Braylon Johnson was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 29 points and 11 rebounds for Pinnacle. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Johnson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kareem Alkhalifa, who scored 13 points.
Mountain Ridge has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-18 record this season. As for Pinnacle, their victory bumped their record up to 14-12.
Mountain Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Pinnacle also has no future games currently scheduled.
