The Sidney Eagles lost against the Evant Elks back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Sidney opened the new year with a less-than-successful 47-37 loss to Evant. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Sidney in their matchups with Evant: they've now lost five in a row.
Molly Waldrum was her usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with five blocks for Evant. Those five blocks set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Luwi Rodriguez, who scored ten points.
Sidney's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-8. As for Evant, their win bumped their record up to 11-5.
Sidney will be playing at home against Gustine at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Evant, they will head out on the road to face off against Mullin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mullin is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
