The Greeley West Spartans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They took a 40-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of Greeley Central. Greeley West lost against Greeley Central in their previous head to head back in February of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 57-26 score last time.
Despite the loss, Greeley West still got an impressive performance from Itzel Guidry, who scored six points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Madison Sepeda continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Greeley Central, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 11 steals.
Greeley West has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Greeley Central, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-11.
Greeley West will take on Longmont at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Longmont presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Greeley West in Colorado (Longmont is ranked 94th, while Greeley West is ranked 224th). As for Greeley Central, they will head out on the road to take on Silver Creek at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Silver Creek is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
