The Westfield Mustangs will take on the Oak Ridge War Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Westfield strolled past Eisenhower with points to spare, taking the game 50-31. Westfield pushed the score to 42-21 by the end of the third, a deficit Eisenhower cut but never quite recovered from.
Meanwhile, Oak Ridge scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 94-28 win over Willis at home. Oak Ridge has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matchups by 23 points or more this season.
Oak Ridge got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brooklyn Mims out in front who scored 27 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mims has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Jones, who scored 16 points along with eight steals and six assists.
Westfield is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 15-12 record this season. As for Oak Ridge, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 21-11.
Westfield was taken down by Oak Ridge 52-22 when the teams last played back in November of 2017. Thankfully for Westfield, Alecia Whyte (who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and six steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
