Canyon View extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 5-10. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 16-14 victory over the Providence Hall Patriots. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 5-0 on Tuesday.
Gage Miller made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Noah Sandoval was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and one double. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Jeter Sanders was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
Canyon View was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
As for Providence Hall, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-6. Even though they lost, their still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.6 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
On Providence Hall's side, Vincent Dutton led a balanced group of hitters, going 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Pierce Taylor, who went 2-for-5 with one home run and two RBI.
Canyon View will have a chance to go back-to-back against Providence Hall: the pair will be back at it again later today.
