Albuquerque had lost three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 11-13 to make it four. They fell just short of the Rio Grande Ravens by a score of 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Bulldogs have suffered since March 27, 2025.

Mario Zamora and Nick Rubio stepped up to the plate in a big way. Zamora went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI, while Rubio got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three RBI, one run, and one double. Zamora is becoming a predictor of Albuquerque's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is 2-1 (and 9-12 when he doesn't).
As for Rio Grande, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.1 runs over those games.
On Rio Grande's side, Lorenzo Martinez made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Martinez has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Rio Grande let Fabian Mendez and Luis Salinas run wild. Mendez went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base, while Salinas got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Salinas has been hot recently, having posted at least one triple the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Reyes Martinez, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
Coincidentally, Albuquerque and Rio Grande will both be playing Los Lunas the next time they take the field. The Ravens will head out to face the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Bulldogs will host them at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
