Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Chowchilla). They blew past the Minarets Mustangs 83-50 on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Tribe in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won six in a row.
Leading Chowchilla to victory were Zayne Smith and Tristan Beardsley. Smith went 7 for 11 from beyond the arc to rack up 33 points and five rebounds, while Beardsley went 8 of 10 en route to 17 points along with eight boards and seven assists. Smith's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Khaled Escheik, who posted eight points and 12 boards.
They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Chowchilla was working as a unit and finished the game with 25 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Minarets only posted three assists.
Minarets' defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances.
