Basketball Recap: Rochester Math and Science Academy Drops Season-High Score on North Lakes Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rochester Math and Science Academy). They put the hurt on the North Lakes Academy Huskies with a sharp 90-65 win on Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for Rochester Math and Science Academy as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Rochester Math and Science Academy found their leader in sophomore Mohamed Abdirahman, who posted 30 points. Ilyas Hassan was another key player, putting up 16 points.

Rochester Math and Science Academy's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for North Lakes Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Rochester Math and Science Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Waterville-Elysian-Morristown/Cannon Valley Lutheran at 7:15 p.m. on January 6, 2025. North Lakes Academy and Maple Lake will round out the year against one another at at 2:30 p.m. on Monday. North Lakes Academy is facing Maple Lake at the right time seeing as Maple Lake is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
