4A Northern recap September 24, 2013
Loveland took down Greeley Central 50-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Longmont led 4A Northern in scoring this week after putting up 52 points on Mountain View. Clint Sigg threw for 176 yards and ran for 144 yards in the win.
Niwot's dynamic duo of Bryan Meek and Jessie Slepicka proved to be unstoppable against Greeley West, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Meek threw for 190 yards and 2 touchdowns and Slepicka had 114 yards receiving. Alex Kinnison helped Niwot's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 59 yards.
The Cougars' dynamic duo of Meek and Slepicka proved tough for the Spartans to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Eli Sullivan was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 230 yards on 8 carries as the Trojans beat Greeley West.
Cody Johnson made the biggest impact on defense this week as Windsor defeated Thompson Valley. The 6-foot-0 junior grabbed 2.0 sacks.
He was 15-30 with 1 interception.
Slepicka was the best receiver in the league this week as Josh Brewer's team bested Jason Renouf's team.
Sigg was a passing and rushing force as Longmont defeated the Mountain Lions. Sigg's key target this week was Ryan Bant-Cogburn, who caught 2 passes for 45 yards.
Meek put up the best numbers through the air as the Cougars beat the Spartans.
Sullivan was a beast in the backfield as Doug Johnson's team topped Mountain View.
6-foot-1 quarterback Meek of Niwot is the league leader in passing yards this season with 414. He has also thrown 3 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Gunner Mengel. The Thompson Valley star has 5 catches for 169 yards.
