The Paint Branch Panthers lost against the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Barons back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Paint Branch received a tough blow as they fell 48-33 to the Barons. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Paint Branch has scored all season.
Bethesda-Chevy Chase's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Frances Doyle, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. Doyle has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played. Anna Tercyak was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds.
Paint Branch's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Bethesda-Chevy Chase, their victory was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Paint Branch will take on the Blue Devils at TBD on Friday. Springbrook is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. As for Bethesda-Chevy Chase, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Blazers at 7:15 p.m. on January 30th. Blair will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 228th, while the Barons are ranked 38th).
