It was a proper cat-fight when Northampton County took on Wilson Prep on Friday. Northampton County took a blow against Wilson Prep, falling 64-16. The game marked the Jaguars' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Kaiyah Cherry and Lydia Deloatch, who each put up five points. Kaniyah Bottoms held things down on the boards with three rebounds.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Rocky Mount Prep, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They slipped by Southeast Halifax 41-40 on Friday.

Rocky Mount Prep's win came from a few key players Northampton County will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jada Silver, who posted 14 points and four steals. She has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mykhalah Lynch, who earned six points along with 13 rebounds and three steals.

Rocky Mount Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in five consecutive contests.

Northampton County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Rocky Mount Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 5-7.

Northampton County didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Rocky Mount Prep in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 56-51 win.
