Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Andrean Fighting 59ers walked away with it. They took down the Fighting Eagles 54-38 on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Andrean also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Leading Andrean to victory were Ashlee Evans and Lindsay Arcella. Evans scored 13 points along with seven rebounds, while Arcella almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Arcella has scored all season.
Andrean has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-14 record this season. As for Lake Station Edison, their loss dropped their record down to 16-8.
Andrean won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Illiana Christian is coming into the match hot, having won their last eight games. Lake Station Edison does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
