The Dumas Demons were the 35-7 winner over the Hereford Whitefaces when they last played one another back in November of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Dumas wound up with the same score they had in their last game (45-42), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Hereford's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brylyn Lopez led the charge by rushing for 200 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.7 yards per carry, and also picking up 70 receiving yards. Lopez was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 68 yards. Kalub Ramirez was another key contributor, throwing for 343 yards and five touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes.
Dumas' loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Hereford, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dumas will take on Decatur at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Decatur presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Dumas in Texas (Decatur is ranked 214th, while Dumas is ranked 463rd). As for Hereford, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Springtown at 7:00 p.m. Springtown is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
