Basketball Recap: Crossroads Christian Academy Triumphs

After losing to Appling Christian Academy the last time they met, Crossroads Christian Academy decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Crossroads Christian Academy Crusaders escaped with a win on Thursday against the Appling Christian Academy Eagles by the margin of a single free throw, 28-27. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Crusaders.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bella Gray, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 18 boards. Gray is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Ayanna Hubbard, who posted four points and 11 rebounds.

Crossroads Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 3-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.5 points per game. As for Appling Christian Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Crossroads Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 39-19 loss against Southside Christian on the 17th. As for Appling Christian Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 36-23 defeat against Peoples Baptist Academy on the 13th.
