Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from JJ Eastman, who posted six points in addition to ten rebounds and three blocks. He has been hot for a while, having posted two or more blocks the last nine times he's played. Another player making a difference was Sawyer Reither, who had five points and five boards.
Meanwhile, Raymond/South Bend unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to Forks 57-53. While losing is never fun, the Ravens can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 271st, while the Spartans are ranked 123rd).
North Beach will have to contain Chris Quintana as he made an impact in Raymond/South Bend's last game. He earned 31 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Quintana a new career-high in points. Tanner Morris was another key player, putting up five points and 12 rebounds.
North Beach's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Raymond/South Bend, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-10.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: North Beach has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 26.9 boards per game. However, it's not like Raymond/South Bend struggles in that department as they've been averaging 28.6 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
North Beach was taken down by Raymond/South Bend 55-26 in their previous matchup on January 9th. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Quintana, who put up 15 points along with seven steals and five boards.
