Hale Ray has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Morgan Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
While Hale Ray couldn't quite beat Cromwell on Friday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 51-point loss they were dealt last Wednesday. Hale Ray fell just short of Cromwell by a score of 45-42. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Hale Ray has suffered yet this season.
Meanwhile, Morgan came tearing into Tuesday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took down Westbrook 52-37.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Morgan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sadie Passante, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. That's the first time this season that Passante pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Johnson, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds.
Hale Ray has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Morgan, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-3.
Hale Ray was dealt a bruising 42-14 loss at the hands of Morgan in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Thankfully for Hale Ray, Caeley Ayer (who scored 21 points along with three steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
