The St. Benedict at Auburndale Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Tipton-Rosemark Academy Rebels at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Tipton-Rosemark Academy will be up against a hot St. Benedict at Auburndale squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over Houston on Monday.
The team relied heavily on Zoie Bernard, who scored three runs and stole four bases while going 4-for-5. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Olivia Evans, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Bernard wasn't the only one making solid contact: St. Benedict at Auburndale kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Tipton-Rosemark Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They blew past the Mustangs 15-8.
Addie Thorpe and Anniston Glass did most of the damage at the plate: Thorpe scored three runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances, while Glass scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Glass continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Zadie Reburn was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-5.
Tipton-Rosemark Academy pushed their record up to 17-14-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for St. Benedict at Auburndale, their record is now 15-4.
Tipton-Rosemark Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Wednesday. St. Benedict at Auburndale has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Tipton-Rosemark Academy, though, as they've been averaging only 4 strikeouts. Will St. Benedict at Auburndale keep running through batters, or will the Rebels buck the trend?
Everything went St. Benedict at Auburndale's way against Tipton-Rosemark Academy in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as St. Benedict at Auburndale made off with an 8-2 win. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Rebels have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
