2A District 6 recap September 10, 2013
First Baptist Academy's Chritian Rodriguez recorded the longest rushing play in 2A District 6 this season in his game against Highlands Christian last week. Rodriguez ran for 54 yards on the play and finished with 121 on the day as his team beat the Knights.
Imagine was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from seventh to fifth in the league. The Sharks beat Keswick Christian 26-0 earlier in the week.
First Baptist Academy's dynamic duo of Tyler Dean and Kody Van Duser proved to be unstoppable against Highlands Christian, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Dean threw for 119 yards and 2 touchdowns and Van Duser had 73 yards receiving.
Billy Sparacio's team's dynamic duo of Dean and Van Duser proved tough for Nathan Revell's team to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Van Duser was the best receiver in the league this week as the Lions defeated the Knights.
Terrance de Avila was the most successful running back in 2A District 6 this week. He ran for 206 yards on 29 carries as Southwest Florida Christian bested Highlands Christian. Teammate stephen Wilkerson added to the ground attack by rushing for 125 yards.
Dean put up the best numbers in passing as the Lions defeated the Knights.
De Avila was a passing and rushing force as the King's bested Canterbury. De Avila's key target this week was Tristian Upton, who caught 4 passes for 33 yards.
First Baptist Academy's Dean and Tyler Brecher have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-1 quarterback Dean has thrown for 291 yards this season, while Brecher has 5 catches for 145 yards. De Avila from Southwest Florida Christian leads the league in rushing with 358 yards.
Mark Ackerman's team scaled the state rankings by moving to 451 from 487 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The King's were able to make move up by topping the Cougars 28-7.
