Given Wellsville's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while Bishop Seabury Academy is ranked 74th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bishop Seabury Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jace Smith, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Smith has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Honarvar, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds.
Wellsville's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2. As for Bishop Seabury Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-3 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wellsville will square off against Baldwin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Baldwin has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 627 points over their last ten matchups. As for Bishop Seabury Academy, Bishop Seabury Academy and Cair Paravel will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
