The Byers Lions''s three-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. They won a match that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Myrtle 28-27. The win was just what Byers needed coming off of a 63-14 defeat in their prior contest.
Despite the loss, Myrtle still got an impressive performance from Joe Kizer, who rushed for 270 yards and three touchdowns.
Byers' win bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Myrtle, their loss was their seventh straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their record down to 1-9.
Byers will take on Vardaman at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Vardaman is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Myrtle, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West Lowndes at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd.
