Riverside had taken Lakeland down for five straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. The Vikings fell 17-13 to the Chiefs. Kate Reynolds led a balanced group of hitters, going 3-for-5 with four RBI, one triple, and one double. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Tierra Schiavo, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Riverside's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Mid Valley has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.3 strikeouts per game. Mid Valley got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April against Riverside by a conclusive 17-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
