Westlake and Thomas Stone are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2022, but not for long. The Westlake Wolverines will face off against the Thomas Stone Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Westlake is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest victory since February 5, 2024 last Friday. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 1-0 win over Fairmont Heights. The one-point effort marked the Wolverines' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Thomas Stone). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Patuxent 67-29. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won eight in a row.

Westlake better keep an eye on Kaden Jackson. He was instrumental in Thomas Stone's win, going 6-for-11 en route to 18 points and five rebounds. What's more, Jackson also posted a 55% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Tyler Johnson was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals.

Thomas Stone was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Patuxent only four assists.

The win made it two in a row for Westlake and bumps their season record up to 6-17. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.5 points over those games. As for Thomas Stone, their victory bumped their record up to 5-17.

Westlake beat Thomas Stone 61-51 in their previous matchup last Thursday. Will Westlake repeat their success, or does Thomas Stone have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
