Mount Anthony and Brattleboro are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2019, but likely not for long. The Patriots will square off against the Bears at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mount Anthony is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.
Mount Anthony had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Rutland on Monday. The Patriots blew past the Raiders 12-2. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Patriots considering their two-run performance the game before.

04/15/25 @ Hoosick Falls | 5 |
Hunter Sherwin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on one hit and racked up 11 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Vance Kobelia was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Sean Moriarty was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Brattleboro faced Leland & Gray in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Bears came out on top against the Rebels by a score of 8-4.
John Satterfield and Harper Cutler did most of the damage at the plate: Satterfield went 1-for-3 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Cutler got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Zach Corbeil, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run.
Brattleboro is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Mount Anthony, their record is now 9-2-1.
Brattleboro's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Mount Anthony has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .445. It's a different story for Brattleboro, though, as they've only averaged .365. Will they be able to contain Mount Anthony's hitters?
Mount Anthony came out on top in a nail-biter against Brattleboro in their previous matchup on Wednesday, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
