Baseball Recap: Auburn's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Auburn had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over the Falls City Tigers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-4 back in March.

Jackson Warner and Mason Schultz were a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Warner struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Meanwhile, Schultz struck out six batters over two innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and not a single walk). Warner is becoming a predictor of Auburn's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 3-1 (and 3-4 when he doesn't). At the plate, Warner went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and one run, while Schultz scored a run while going 1-for-3. That's the most RBI Warner has posted since back in April of 2024.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Clayton Brown, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Aydan Smith was another, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Auburn pushed their record up to 6-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Falls City, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.
